Blair Stereoscopic Archive

About this Organisation

The Blair Stereoscopic Archive is a collection of around 5000 stereoscopic photographic images of Scotland dating from the 1850s to the present day. Images available cover Scotland from Gretna Green to John o'Groats and are free to use for personal research projects. The website www.scotlan3d.com pulls together research on Scottish stereo-photographers, such as the well-known George Washington Wilson and James Valentine, but also lesser known regional photographers. Dr Peter Blair has been collecting stereoscopic views of Scotland for 30 years and is a photo-historian, author and public speaker, who is keen to promote stereoscopy.
