Archaeology and Provan Hall
When & Where
Event Details
Provan Hall is one of Glasgow's oldest buildings, dating back to the 1470s and is a contestant as Glasgow's oldest house, in competition with Provand's Lordship. The historic building has just gone under a 6 year renovation and is once again open to the public. Provan Hall Community Management Trust is an independent charity and acts as custodian of Provan Hall. We are running a series of history talks to celebrate Scotland's rich history in one of the country's best kept medieval properties.
Addyman Archaeologists investigated Provan Hall before the renovations began and have some interesting discoveries to reveal. Some of the evidence has fed into the age old argument of whether Provan Hall truly is the oldest house in Glasgow. Join us for an evening of local history and archaeology from Tom Addyman.
