Scotland's Greatest Manhunt
When & Where
Event Details
After his disastrous defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, Bonnie Prince Charlie fled to the Outer Hebrides with a bounty of £3.5M (in today’s money) on his head, and for 6 months he was pursued by the combined forces of the British Army and Navy. For the first time, this astonishing escape has been recreated in a single journey. Through the trials of his own incredible, present-day 530 mile quest - by way of remote wilderness, hidden glens, modern roads and uninhabited islands - Gregor Ewing, and his faithful Border Collie, Meg, relives the Prince's epic flight, and tells the story of the vaguely known, and often misunderstood, plight of the Highlanders, who unwaveringly protected the one they considered their true prince.
