Formed in 2016, over a cup of coffee in a local café, Langside Community Heritage offers opportunities for people to engage with and explore heritage, history and archaeology, focusing mainly on the southside of Glasgow.

We offer a range of events and activities, often in conjunction with other community heritage organisations.
Our biggest event to date was Langside 450, held in Queens’ Park Arena, in May 2018, with the support of Inhouse Events. We had visits from Mary Queen of Scots, a band, a play about Mary and the southside of Glasgow, performed by local school children and a fortune telling goat, as well as music written especially for the occasion.

Our focus over each winter period is a series of evening presentations, often on subjects suggested by our members.

LCH has developed an enviable reputation for publishing short guides to a range of subjects, foremost of which is The Battle of Langside, with the second edition launched in January 2024. In addition, we have published guides on the lives of those whose names appear on the war memorials at Langside Parish Church.

Membership is free and all are welcome. We endeavour to make our events accessible to all.
