Illustrated Talk on Ballindalloch
When & Where
The Grantown Society's October open meeting is an illustrated talk on Ballindalloch, its castle, family and estate.
Ballindalloch Castle, is one of the finest surviving examples of a Scottish Baronial Castle.
Situated at the heart of Speyside in the northeast of Scotland, Ballindalloch Estate is a diverse and forward-thinking business owned and managed by the Macpherson-Grant family. The commercial activities are varied, encompassing arable and cattle farming, forestry, residential and holiday lets, corporate entertainment, and its very own Ballindalloch Single Malt Distillery, which opened in 2014. It is also a famous Highland sporting estate, welcoming guests from around the world to enjoy excellent fly-fishing on the Rivers Spey and Avon, as well as pheasant and grouse shooting and world renowned roe stalking.
One previous Estate resident was W E Johns, author of the Biggles stories, several of which were written whilst Johns was a tenant.
