Event Details

To mark the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn in 2014, the Battle of Bannockburn Family History Project will throw light on the participants in the Battle from a genealogical point of view.

The results of research by students on the Postgraduate Diploma Course in Genealogical Studies on a number of the participants will be displayed in an exhibition hosted by the National Trust for Scotland in the new Bannockburn Heritage Centre, from Saturday 21 June to Saturday 2 August 2014. This will feature biographical information and coats of arms of a number of participants and genealogies of their families. In addition, the exhibition will present the results of a genetic genealogy project aimed at tracing living descendants of some of the participants in the Battle.
