Strachur Smiddy Museum
About this Organisation
Strachur Smiddy had been in existence since the 18th century. It fell out of use in the 1950s as motor vehicles replaced horses, but was opened as a museum and visitor attraction in 1997. There is a working forge with manual bellows, and many of the original tools, and a blacksmith who visits on weekends in the summer. There also a small craft shop.
