Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust

About this Organisation

Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust (PKHT) was established in 1988 as a partnership between The Gannochy Trust, Perth & Kinross Council and Perth Civic Trust with the aim of conserving, enhancing and promoting the archaeological and architectural heritage of the Perth and Kinross area. The Trust maintains strong connections with it's founding partners and works both independently and collaboratively to preserve, enhance and increase understanding of Perth and Kinross's historic environment.

PKHT realises its vision, mission and objectives with respect to the archaeological and architectural heritage of the area through the development and delivery of projects, the administration of grants, the provision of information and advice, programmes of skills training, outreach activities, and the sale of publications.

PKHT maintains the region's Historic Environment Record (HER). This is a searchable database containing information of over 17,000 records of archaeological monuments, historic buildings, artefact find spots and significant places. Information is also held on statutory and non-statutory designations for the historic environment (Scheduled Monuments, Listed Buildings, Gardens and Designed Landscapes and Conservation Areas) and on events (e.g. archaeological fieldwork) carried out within Perth & Kinross. The Perth and Kinross HER is open for public research and commercial enquiries and public research enquires are free of charge. Detail of how to make an enquiry can be found on the website.

PKHT is a company registered under the Companies Acts and is limited by guarantee (Company Reg. No. 111258), and a Scottish Charity in terms of the relevant legislation (Scottish Charity No. SC003139).
