Colintraive Heritage Centre
About this Organisation
Set beside the Milton Burn and the Colintraive Community Garden this unmanned museum is open from April to October. It was created in 2009 by local residents in a former coach house and stables. It is managed by the voluntary Colintraive Village Hall Committee. It tells the story of the development of the village of Colintraive, its farming and cultural heritage through artefacts and display boards. It has a cinema area with 6 short films. A pamphlet has been produced to support the exhibition material. There are written and photographic files recording the oral history of some of the local residents. Quizzes and drawing activities are provided for children.
It is visited by locals and tourists from all over the world.
