Katherine Campbell was the granddaughter of Archibald, second earl of Argyll. She was first married to James, master of Ogilvy and later to David Lindsay of Edzell, ninth earl of Crawford. Katherine lived through the ‘rough wooings’ and the Scottish Reformation.
