Kincardine Local History Group
About this Organisation
Kincardine-on-Forth Local History Group was established by Bill Wolsey in 1978 and has been online since 1997. It is a non-profit community-run organisation whose aim is to research, preserve, and promote the history of Kincardine-on-Forth, Scotland. Meetings are held from 2.00pm to 4.00pm once a month from October to March and feature talks on many varied aspects of local and not-so-local history. Visitors and anyone interested in joining the group are always very welcome to attend the meetings which are held in the Community Centre, Anderson Lane, Kincardine.
As a group of amateur enthusiasts, we are keen to learn and document everything to do with the history of Kincardine and its people. Therefore, we are always pleased to hear from anyone with information, stories or photographs about the town. So if you know of something to do with Kincardine’s past and think we should know about it too, do please get in touch.
We are also happy to hear from those who have traced their family back to Kincardine-on-Forth. The town has a long maritime tradition and descendants of Kincardine families are now found right around the globe. Most of the information relating to family graves can be found in the Tulliallan Kirkyard and Overton Cemetery pages on our website. We do try to respond to all enquiries but please remember we are an amateur group, so it can sometimes take a while for us to reply depending on how often we remember to check our email!
