Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Tuath
About this Organisation
Comann Eachdraidh Uibhist a Tuath (CEUT) is North Uist's historical society.
CEUT's purposes include the advancement of North Uist’s heritage, language, culture and arts. Its volunteers collect, identify and preserve documents, artefacts, photographs and other material of historical value in North Uist for the long term benefit of the community. Additionally, CEUT organises exhibitions, displays, lectures and other events relating to local heritage. It manages Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum in Lochmaddy, and is in the process of developing a heritage centre in Carinish, where its collections and archives will be stored and available for public access and research.
