Event Details

This is the first talk of our 2026-27 winter season of talks and will be held in the Breadalbane Community Campus in Aberfeldy on Friday, 18th September, starting at 7:15p.m.. The talk will be presented by Dan Watson, a senior nature conservation officer of the National Trust for Scotland.

For 10 years, Dan was the NTS ecologist at Ben Lawers which is the best location in Britain for rare mountain flora. His talk will explain why this is the case and tells the story of the early botanists who first discovered its riches, following this with the history of the pioneering monitoring programme established by NTS in 1980 which charts our rarest species, and the talk ends with their current status and the threats they face.
